Regular backups protect your website hosting in Sri Lanka from data loss caused by updates, hacks, or accidental deletions. Ceyora recommends weekly backups stored off-server.
Full account backup
- Log in to cPanel
- Open Backup Wizard or Backup
- Choose Back Up → Full Backup
- Select a destination (download to your computer is safest)
- Wait for the backup file to generate and download it
Partial backup (files and database only)
- Home Directory: Downloads all website files
- MySQL Databases: Export each database separately
- Email Forwarders & Filters: Optional, for mail configuration
WordPress-specific backup
Use a plugin such as UpdraftPlus in addition to cPanel backups. Store copies on Google Drive or your local PC — never rely on a single backup location.
Restore from backup
Use Backup Wizard → Restore, or contact Ceyora support if you need help restoring after an incident.
